The trailer release is scheduled to align with Rockstar Games’ 25th-anniversary celebration this month.
Rockstar Games has officially declared the release date for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) teaser, scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30 pm IST in India and 9 am ET in the US.
The teaser image posted by the publisher features a sunset and palm tree silhouettes, confirming rumors of the game’s setting in a fictionalized version of Miami, a return to Vice City.
The upcoming installment introduces a significant shift with a leaked gameplay hinting at a female protagonist, potentially named Jason and Lucia. This marks a departure from the franchise’s history of portraying women in controversial roles.
While the official title is yet to be revealed, Rockstar refers to it as the ‘next Grand Theft Auto,’ leaving room for speculation about potential spin-offs or subtitles.
Rockstar has made notable changes, rebranding its online multiplayer service from ‘Social Club’ to the ‘Rockstar Games platform’ and altering its logo.
The company’s Instagram account has also been reset, focusing solely on the GTA 6 trailer release date banner.
Despite the decade-long success of GTA Online, Rockstar is gearing up for the highly anticipated GTA 6 launch. The game is expected to debut on current-gen consoles, starting with PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, followed by a later release on PC.
Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013, has sold a staggering 190 million copies globally, with its remastered trilogy set to be available on Netflix starting December 14.
