Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur to Mumbai

On Wednesday, the Congress announced the commencement of the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi, covering a distance from Manipur to Mumbai, traversing 14 states and 85 districts across India from east to west over 67 days.

The yatra, spanning approximately 6,200 km, will primarily utilize buses with intermittent walking segments and is scheduled to conclude on March 20. This initiative is perceived as the party’s strategy to garner support leading up to the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Notably, this yatra follows Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ completed almost a year ago, which involved a 4,000 km journey on foot from Kanyakumari to Kashmir over 136 days.

While the Bharat Jodo Yatra addressed issues of “economic disparities, polarization, and dictatorship,” the Nyay Yatra will specifically concentrate on advocating for social, economic, and political justice for the people of the country, as highlighted by Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh in a press conference.
