Dunki is the fourth Shah Rukh Khan film to surpass the Rs 400-crore mark worldwide, joining the ranks of Jawan, Pathaan, and Chennai Express. Jawan is SRK’s highest-grossing film, earning Rs 1148 crore globally, followed by Pathaan with Rs 1050 crore and Chennai Express with Rs 422 crore.
Dunki explores the social issue of illegal immigration, depicting the Indianized version of donkey flight, a risky method for crossing international borders secretly. The film tells the heartwarming story of four friends on a journey to foreign shores.
Facing tough challenger at the box office from Prabhas-starrer Salaar, released on December 22, Dunki is striving to maintain its success. Salaar, a pan-India action film, grossed Rs 557 crore in its first eleven days across various languages.
