The motive behind this shocking incident remains unknown, but authorities suspect the CEO’s strained relationship with her husband is a potential cause for the killing. Police disclosed that Suchana Seth, originally from West Bengal, was distressed about her ongoing divorce proceedings with her husband Venkat Raman.
Ms. Seth and her son checked into the Sol Banyan Grande in Candolim on Saturday while her husband, who is employed as an AI developer, was in Indonesia. On Monday, she departed the hotel alone, requesting a taxi to Bengaluru despite suggestions to take a flight.
Hotel staff later noticed the absence of her son, and bloodstains were discovered in the apartment she had occupied. Goa police were alerted, leading to a series of events where they contacted the taxi driver. Ms. Seth initially claimed her son was with a friend and provided a fake address when questioned.

Upon her arrest, Ms. Seth was brought back to Goa for interrogation and presented in court, where she has been remanded in police custody for six days. According to Mindful AI Lab’s LinkedIn page, Suchana Seth was recognized among the top “100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021.”
