NCRPO Prepares for Traslacion 2024

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is fully prepared for Traslacion 2024, also known as the Feast of the Black Nazarene, Manila. The NCRPO initiated a send-off ceremony for its personnel at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Sunday. In collaboration with the Manila Police District and the city’s local government, the NCRPO assured the public of a secure and safe feast, intending to deploy over 15,000 personnel from January 9 to 10.

“With an estimated crowd of 2.3 million, a total of 15,276 personnel will be deployed during the peak of the activity from January 9 to January 10, 2024,” stated the NCRPO. In addition to NCRPO, police officers, units, and troops from the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region of the Armed Forces of the Philippines will also be dispatched for the event.

Regarding restrictions, the NCRPO emphasized that vendors are prohibited within the vicinity of Quiapo Church. Devotees are not allowed to wear hoodie jackets or caps, use backpacks, water bottles, umbrellas, raincoats, firecrackers, or pyrotechnics, deadly or bladed weapons, and intoxicated people are not allowed to join the procession.

Authorities will enforce a “no-fly zone and no drone zone” within the Quirino Grandstand and Quiapo Church vicinity, as well as along the procession routes from January 7 to 10. A “no-sail zone” will be implemented in the vicinity waters of South Harbor, Manila (near Quirino Grandstand), and Pasig River from 12 a.m. on January 6 to 12 a.m. on January 10.

A gun ban will be imposed in the City of Manila from 7:00 a.m. on January 8 to 7:00 a.m. on January 10.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes due to road closures in and around the procession route, with re-routing beginning from 9 p.m. on January 8.
