India-Canada News: Toronto University promises to take care of students’ safety after Nijjar incident

The University of Toronto wants to comfort its students during a disagreement between India and Canada. According to the university, India has stopped processing visas, making it hard for students to meet in person.

India and Canada are having a problem. The University of Toronto wants to make sure its students are okay, but it’s not easy because India stopped processing visas.

The Vice-President of the University, Professor Joseph Wong, talked about this. He said many people at the University are worried about what’s happening between Canada and India. Things are changing quickly, and we don’t have all the answers. But the University is proud to have lots of students from India, and they want to help them.

Professor Joseph said they want to support all the people who are affected by this, especially the international students. He also said the University has been working with India for a long time on education stuff, and they want to keep doing that. Right now, they can’t meet in person because of the visa issue, but they will keep talking online.

He promised that the University would keep an eye on what’s happening between India and Canada and how it affects the University.

Canada is moving its diplomats out of India because of this issue. India gave Canada a deadline to reduce the number of Canadian diplomats in India. India says the claims made against them are not true and kicked out a Canadian diplomat in return.

Canada hasn’t shown any proof for the claims they made about a person named Hardeep Singh Nijjar. They say they want to work with India to solve this problem.
